Other floors
Shoukei Japanese Calligraphy is in a three-story building. You can have fun in addition to Japanese Calligraphy.
1st floor -Shoukei Japanese Calligraphy-
The 1st floor is a space for 書道-shodo-. You can experience Japanese Calligraphy at the 1st floor.
2nd floor -CAFE＆GALLERY WAKU-
"CAFE×art"
The 2nd floor is CAFE＆GALLERY WAKU. Up stairs, there is a relaxing space. We recommend you various hot dogs. Of course, there are coffee, fresh juice, dessert, moreover they have morning menu by the day of the week.
It's not normal cafe. There are some nice works of Japanese Calligraphy which teacher, students, children write. You can look at them with having coffee.
After workshop, please have a good time at cafe.
3rd floor -Mayumi's atelier-
掛軸ーkakejikuー
3rd floor is "Mayumi's atelier".
Do you know handing scroll? We call it "掛軸-kakejiku-" in Japanese. Kakejiku is mounting works of Japanese Calligraphy. Normally, when we want to make our writing kakejiku, we have to request to professional vendors.
At Mayumi's atelier, everyone can make original kakejiku by yourself. (Later, we are planning to open making kakejiku course for foreigners. )
Besides, there a lot of Mayumi's works, for example, bookmark, magnet clip made of special cloth. If you like them, you can buy them for souvenirs.
